Do I need to buy QuickBooks or some other software?
No, you do not need to own QuickBooks, or even a computer. We enter your information into our version of QuickBooks and give you reports that are meaningful to you in the format that you want. Then at the end of the year we provide the QuickBooks file to your CPA or tax professional to file your taxes.
How much does a bookkeeper cost?
That depends on your business. Most bookkeepers charge by the hour so the more transactions you have the longer it takes to organize and enter your information. Examples of a transaction are a customer sale, debit card purchase, or check written. A good bookkeeper has years of experience and can enter multiple transactions in an hour to keep your costs low.
What is the difference between data entry, bookkeeping, and accounting?
Data entry, also known as transcription, is entering hand written information into a computer software like Microsoft Word.
Bookkeeping is recording financial transactions into the correct categories, or accounts, in a software system. Bookkeeping requires experience, certification, or additional education.
Accountants prepare financial reports and interpret financial information. Most Accountants must have extensive experience and at least a bachelor's degree. Some accountants are licensed, or certified, by their state and are called CPA's.
What can I do to keep my bookkeeping and accounting services costs down?
Organize and separate your receipts - bank statement/debit card purchases, credit card purchases, cash purchases and write on your receipts - what the receipt is for, which vehicle the gas is for, who you had lunch with. This helps your bookkeeper categorize it correctly.
Hire a bookkeeper for only the services you need. Maybe you can balance your own bank statement but you need help filing your payroll tax. Or maybe you can pay your vendors and your bookkeeper can just enter the information from the check stub.
Communicate with your chosen professional. The more information we receive from you the easier it is to process your paperwork.
What do you do for me?

What are the benefits for hiring an outside bookkeeper or accountant?
There are huge cost saving benefits to outsourcing your bookkeeping. You do not pay payroll taxes or benefits and you don't have to provide office space or equipment.
You will also save time because there is no need to manage an outsourced employee and your bookkeeping is as timely and accurate as it would be if you had an in house employee.
You also get the benefit of someone with more experience and education than you could normally afford if you hired an employee.
